Zenith People are working with our client who have an opportunity for an experienced Site Services/Facilities Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team responsible for maintaining and enhancing critical infrastructure across a large-scale industrial site. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to manage essential building services and contribute to the development of new facilities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain key building systems including:
- Compressed air, chilled water, and deionized water plants
- Steam boilers, low-temperature hot water systems, HVAC, LEV, and VOC extraction
- Fire detection and suppression systems
- Clean/dry room dehumidification
- Manage incoming utilities such as water, natural gas, and site drainage
- Develop and implement full lifecycle preventative maintenance strategies
- Create and enforce safe working procedures aligned with industry standards (e.g., FMEA, risk assessments)
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors
- Lead response to major breakdowns and oversee corrective maintenance
- Prepare and manage annual capital and operational expenditure budgets
- Draft mechanical service design specifications for new installations
- Implement and manage Building and Energy Management Systems
- Lead project coordination, budgeting, and cashflow planning
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
- Experience with electrical systems including LV distribution and BMS
- Proven background in site services or mechanical engineering
- Familiarity with HSE compliance and regulations
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD/Revit or similar
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Legionella Management
- Experience with fire protection systems
- Exposure to clean/dry room production environments
- Valid UK driving licence
