Zenith People are working with our client who are looking to recruit an experienced Systems Engineer on a permanent basis.
Working within the Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineering Team you will ensure all DCS, PLC and Drives systems are kept in order ensuring inspection and backing up of programs and files are carried out regularly.
The role responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Department Supervisor
- Providing technical support as required, including the modification of software through change requests, installation and fault diagnosis of DCS / PLC / Drives instrumentation and control equipment, and systems specific to site operations.
- Carrying out planned proactive tasks in accordance with PPMs and Shutdown plans.
- Designing and developing new programs and control systems tailored to operations, as well as test, maintain and modify existing systems to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines across all E,C&I and asset management activities.
- Participating in the development and execution of OPEX and CAPEX budgeted activities
- Developing and executing asset maintenance and replacement plans to optimise asset performance, minimise downtime, and reduce overall maintenance costs.
- Reviewing and implementing planned maintenance programmes to meet statutory OEM
- Audit the Computerised Maintenance Management System to ensure maintenance history is accurate and up to date, focusing on specific equipment and processes.
- Plan and implement system automation as required for improved efficiency.
- Oversee the development of customized software and hardware requirements.
The person we’re looking for:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Systems environment maintenance team within a manufacturing environment.
- Able to demonstrate familiar with Advanced Process Control (APC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (Siemens PCS7, Mitsubishi and ABB systems would be an advantage), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Driven dynamic, self motivated, and determined individual
- Able to and be prepared to train others such as apprentices and operate within a multi disciplinal team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.
