The Machine Setter/Operator is responsible for overseeing the production and packaging of manufactured products from a cell of high-speed thermoforming machines, ensuring that quality, efficiency, and production targets are met.

 

The role responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the company’s BRC Certification, Health & Safety policy, and good manufacturing practice.
  • Perform product changeovers, setups, and run established tooling to the manufacturing specification within production time targets.
  • Diagnose and correct running faults promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with the team leader about progress and any arising issues.
  • Conduct production duties such as raw material changes, packing, taping, manual lifting, and labeling.
  • Ensure products are packed and labeled correctly according to the packing specification for each order.
  • Carry out and document quality inspections per SOP accurately and on time.
  • Report any product defects or out-of-spec products to the team leader.
  • Input all relevant information into the company computer system and complete all paperwork accurately.
  • Manage waste removal and ensure all waste or defect product is segregated appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment around the machine.
  • Liaise with team members regarding cover for holidays/absence to ensure smooth operations.

 

The person we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Machine Setter or skilled operating is essential
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and fault diagnosis
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized workspace

 

Hours: Alternating 7am – 19.00pm and 19.00pm – 7am, 3 on 3 off 12-hour shift pattern.
